Come enjoy a local brew with a local crew for a great evening of music and coffee!
Lumedia Musicworks will present a double-bill of Bach and Bernier’s Coffee Cantatas accompanied by a custom coffee creation. These two pieces were written at the time that coffee was first introduced to Europe. Hard though it may be to imagine, some people disapproved of it! Much like today, of course, others thought coffee was wonderful. This music gives us both points of view. Bach’s Coffee Cantata – first performed in a coffee house in Germany — tells the comical tale of how a sly and strong-willed teenage girl (in league with her mother) outwits her coffee-disapproving father to get access both to her precious stimulant and to her boyfriend. Bernier’s work on the other hand, simply extols the virtues of coffee.
Come get it while it’s hot! This event is open for all.
